DNA tests to determine other biological relationships when direct paternity or maternity is not possible or needed. For families seeking to clarify relationships for personal, legal, or inheritance reasons.

Types of Relationship Tests:

  • Sibling DNA Test: Confirms if two people are full or half-siblings. If the possible father is not available, but has other children, we can test those children to see if they are siblings.

 

  • Grandparent DNA Test: Confirms biological relationships when between a child and one or both grandparents. Testing the mother is recommended for clearer results, but only one grandparent is required. Results in 3-5 business days after lab receives all samples.

 

  • Twin Zygosity Test: Determines if twins are identical or fraternal. Both twins are tested. Results in 2-3 business days after lab receives all samples.

 

  • Y-Chrmosome (Y-STR) Test: Compares male lineage through the paternal line (father's side). For two or more males wanting to know if they share the same biological father or paternal ancestor. Useful for brothers, uncles, cousins, or grandfather/frandson relationships on the father's side. Results in 2-3 business days after lab receives all samples.

 

  • Avuncular: 

    Types of Avuncular Tests:

    • Uncle-Nephew/Niece Test: Determines if a man is the biological uncle of a child.
    • Aunt-Nephew/Niece Test: Determines if a woman is the biological aunt of a child.
    • Results in 3-5 business days after lab receives all samples.
